The 1884 administration of estate for Clarinda's father, Lewis Wheelock, refers to grandchildren Edward, and Mary Hedges, of Colden, NY, and Lewis Hedges, of Boston, NY.
This, coupled with the fact that Clarinda Hedges appears in the 1880 Census, living in Sardinia, NY (adjacent to Colden), with children Eddie, Lewis, and Mary, and husband John suggest that the Clarinda in the 1880 census is Clarinda Wheelock, daughter of Lewis Wheelock. Clarinda is not mentioned in her father's administration of estate (Erie County Surrogate Court file # 24272, 1884), suggesting that she died before 1884.
Clarinda's age in the 1860 Census is given as 19; in the 1880 Census it is given as 47, a discrepancy of 8 years. The later age would imply a birth date of about 1833.
