A Columbia Whelock (sic), age 30, born in Vermont, is enumerated in the 1870 Census living in Yonkers, NY, in the home of Eleanor Larnum, age 26, born in Vermont (possibly her half sister), and George Larnum, age 28. She is enumerated in the 1910 Census, sister in law, living in Brooklyn, NY, again in the home of George W. Farnum (?), and Eleanor M. Farnum. She is listed as Columbia A. Wheelock, age 75, born in Vermont, father born in Vermont.

Cyrus Wheelock was an active leader of the Mormon Church during it's founding days, and was one of the last people to be with Joseph Smith, before his death. Here is what the LDS Biographical Encyclopedia says about him:
Wheelock, Cyrus Hubbard, president of the Northern States Mission from 1878 to 1879, was born Feb. 28, 1813, in Henderson, Jefferson Co., N. Y., a son of Asa Wheelock and Lucy Hubbard. He was baptized Sept. 1, 1839, filled a mission to Vermont, and other missions to the States in early days. His labor with Governor Ford in behalf of the Prophet Joseph Smith and others, while they were incarcerated in Carthage jail, is a matter of history. He was a gifted orator, and was set apart May 6, 1878, as president of the Northern States Mission, then comprising Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois. He returned in August, 1879, and died Oct. 11, 1894, in Mt. Pleasant, Utah.

The Miami Valley Genealogical Index refers to the marriage of Carrie Thayer and F. B. Mast in 1885, the death of F. B. Mast in 1891, and the marriage of Mrs. Carrie Mast and Ellis Wheelock in 1894. It is presumed Mrs. Carrie Mast and Carrie Thayer are one and the same.
