Ralph Wheelock, his wife Abigail Blashfield, their son Gershom, and possibly other children removed to Pompey, NY, from Sturbridge in 1802.
(Source: "Onondaga's Centennial", Bruce, Dwight H. (Ed.), Boston History Co., 1896, Vol. II, p. 381.)
Henry J. Clarke, in his essay "Captain Ralph Wheelock of Sturbridge, His Ancestry and Some of His Descendants", Quinabang Historical Society Leaflets, Vol 1, No. 15, 1903, did not mention the children born in Peru, MA - Festus, Asenath, and Ralph, or Dolly, who was presumably born in NY. The Peru Vital Records report that Asenath was born to "Lt. Ralph and Abigail", and that Festus and Ralph were born to "Capt. Ralph and Abigail".
He also mentions nothing of Ralph's Revolutionary War Service, giving credit instead to his father. But Ralph, Jr. who removed to Pompey, NY, appears on the NY Revolutionary War Pension Rolls for having "served on the Masssachusetts line" (see "New York Pensioners of 1835"). Private Ralph Wheelock, of Sturbridge, served in Captain Benjamin Richardson's Company at Dorchester Heights, later under Captain Abel Mason at Providence, RI, and Captain Benjamin Freeman "to reinforce the Northern army under Gen. Gates."
