  • Oscar Merritt Wheelock, alias Oscar Creighton, the dynamite devil (b. 1877, d. 1911) was a bank robber, and a decorated hero of the Mexican Revolution. His ancestry is: (Oscar/Joseph/Joseph/Adam/Calvin/Silas/Benjamin/Benjamin/Ralph).
  • Lt. Col. Douglas H. Wheelock, NASA Astronaut. His descent from Rev. Ralph Wheelock is not yet known.
  • Lucy Wheelock, founder of Wheelock College in Boston.
  • Edwin Miller Wheelock, abolitionist and educator, probably not descended from Rev. Ralph Wheelock. His immigrant ancestor, Charles Wheelock, came to NY from Ireland in 1810.
  • Rev. Eleazar Wheelock (1711 - 1779), founder of Dartmouth College, (Eleazar/Ralph/Eleazar/Ralph)

  • Frank Emerson Wheelock (1863 - 1932), founder of Lubbock, Texas. (Frank/William/William/Chapin/Adams/Paul/Benjamin/Benjamin/Ralph)
  • Jerome Wheelock (b. 1834 in Grafton, MA), invented a more efficient way to manufacture the steam engine. His statue stands in the center of Grafton. His ancestry is as follows: (Jerome/Daniel/Paul/Paul/Samuel/Samuel/Gershom/Ralph).
  • Julia Wheelock (b. 7 Oct 1833 d. 7 Jun 1900) was an agent for the Michigan Soldiers Relief Association during the Civil War.  She  wrote a book about her experiences entitled "The Boys in White."  Her ancestry is: (Julia/Alden/Amariah/Benjamin/Benjamin/Benjamin/Benjamin/Ralph)
  • Charles Wheelock - (b. 1812 in Claremont, NH, d. 1865, in Washington, DC)
    Colonel Charles Wheelock formed and commanded the 97th Regiment NY Volunteer Infantry. He married Lucy Jones, and started the regiment in Boonville, N.Y. He died 21 Jan 1865, and was breveted Brigadier General  on 26 Jan 1865. For an account of Charles Wheelock in battle, click here. A book has been written about the 97th NY Civil War Volunteer Infantry, with many references to Charles Wheelock - "History of the Ninety-Seventh Regiment New York Volunteers Conkling Rifles", by Isaac Hall, ISBN# 0-935523-25-1. His Wheelock ancestry, as it ties in to Rev. Ralph Wheelock, is not known.
  • John Hall Wheelock (b. 1886, d. 1978) was an award winning poet, and chief editor for Charles Scribner and Sons. His ancestry is: (John/William/William/Joseph/Moses/Ephraim/Eleazar/Ralph)
  • Otis Leonard Wheelock (b. 1816, d. 1893) was an architect of considerable note. He designed many buildings still standing in Chicago, IL and Watertown, NY. His ancestry is unknown.
