Vermont probate records are maintained by the counties. Each county has an archive of wills, settlements of estate, guardianships, etc. Indices to these probate records can be found in the county probate office, in libraries, and in genealogical societies. 

Windsor County Probate Index

The is a transcription of the Wheelock entries in "Windsor County Vermont Probate Index 1778 - 1899", Compiled by Scott Andrew Bartley and Marjorie-J. Bartley, Genealogical Society of Vermont, Saint Albans, Vt, 2000. Windsor County is divided into two probate districts, Hartford and Windsor. Hartford contains the towns of Barnard, Bethel, Bridgewater, Hartford, Hartland, Norwich, Pomfret, Rochester, Royalton, Sharon, Stockbridge, and Woodstock. The Windsor district contains the towns of Andover, Baltimore, Cavendish, Chester, Ludlow, Plymouth, Reading, Springfield, Weathersfield, West Windsor, Eston, and Windsor.
