She was born in Calais, a year after her parents settled there permanently - the first "white child" born in in the town.1
In 1850 she was living in Calais, in the household of her sister, Elphrida Leonard, birthplace listed as Massachusetts (probably in error).
In 1860 she was living in Calais in the household of Jerome Bliss, and his presumed wife, Charlotte. Her sister Elfrida Leonard was also in the household. Her birthplace is listed as Vermont.
She was again in Calais in 1870, born in Vermont, with her sister Elfrida, and Elfrida's son, Joseph, his wife, and children.
Laura never married. She died intestate; her estate was administered by her brother, Abijah Wheelock. After debts and expenses, the balance of the estate was distributed to her next of kin, listed as: Elfirda Leonard and Abijah Wheelock, sister and brother of deceased; Zilpha Stockwell, Wealtha Learned, Cyrena Wheeler, Anson Wheelock, Alfred Wheelock, and Adelia Waterhouse, heirs of Jonathan Wheelock, her deceased brother; Ella Gipson(?) daughter of her sister Marancy Waterhouse, "a deceased daughter of said Jonathan, and a child of Anna Gravis(?) a deceased daughter of the said Marancy (name not known)"; Geo.
