He enrolled as a fifer in the Revolutionary War, at the age of 15, and served in that capacity throughout the war. He filed intention to marry Prudence Haskell in Lancaster, but he may have died prior to marriage, as his fiance filed intention to marry another man a few years later.¹

Joseph Beaman served at Lexington and at Bunker Hill. Sometime after the war he moved to Bennington, Bennington County, Vermont where he married twice, and died there in 1820. He is buried in the Old Bennington Cemetery.

The transcribed Lancaster Vital records show birth date 19 Sep 1760, but the original handwritten records show 19 Sep 1768. The latter is more consistent with her date of marriage, age at death, and fits better into the chronology of births for her mother.

She may have moved to Concord, MA, possibly to join her sister Lucy, sometime before 13 May 1804, when she married Benjamin Kimball there. After marrying, she moved to Concord, New Hampshire, where her husband lived.

Her Merrimack County, New Hampshire, will, dated 22 July 1850, leaves half of her savings to Lucy M. Roby and Caroline B. Roby, daughters of her daughter Mary Ann Roby, and the other half to her son, Robert P. Kimball (Merrimack County probate, vol. 34, p. 32).

Notes:

Benjamin Kimball was born in Concord, NH on 4 June 1771, the son of John and Anna (Ayer) Kimball. He married first Mehitable Foster in Canterbury, NH, on 14 March 1798. He married second 13 May 1804, Rhoda Beaman, in Concord, Middlesex Co, MA.¹

He went by the name Benjamin Kimball, Jr, probably to distinguish from an older relative of the same name, who also lived in Concord. [See,for example, his will, Rockingham (now Merrimack) County, NH, probate, vol 45, p. 1, in which he identifies his wife as Rhoda, and refers to himself as Benjamin Kimball, Jr.]

He bought the first coach, built by his nephew-in-law, Lewis Downing, in November 1813 for 60 dollars.²

When Benjamin died, two of his children went into the care of Lewis Downing, and his wife Lucy - Robert Parker Kimball and Mary Ann Kimball.³
