Dorothy M. Morton and Martin C. Wood were maried in Weber County, Utah on 14 May 1921, but their marriage didn't last. In Oct 1923, Dorothy Wood was granted a decree and alimony from Martin Wood of Standardville, Utah, together with the restoration of her maiden name, Dorothy Morton.¹ Shortly thereafter she married Harvey A. Churchill.

In 1930, Dorothy Mildred Churchill and Arthur Harvey Churchill were registered voters in San Bernardino County, California. In 1940 Dorothy, occupation "circulaton," and Arthur Churchill were living in Honey Lake, Lassen County, California, no children in the household.

Per his obituary, her husband, Arthur H. Churchill, remarried in 1950, suggesting they were divorced prior to that date.²

On 23 July 1945, the Reverside Daily Press (Riverside, California) notes that a marriage license was issued to Gregory S. Powell, 48, and Dorothy M. Churchill, 40, both of Salt Lake City.³

In 1950 Gregory S. Powell, 54, born Nebraska, real estate instructor, and Dorothy M. Powell, age 48, born Nebraska, statistician, were living together in Inglewood, Los Angeles, California.

Gregory S. Powell, 61, died in Aug 1956. Funeral services were conducted on 31 Aug 1956, with interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Per obituary, he left his widow, Dorothy, a son Gregory E. Powell, a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Nevards, and four sisters.⁴

Dorothy Powell died 15 Sep 1978 in Los Angeles, California. Per death record she was born 4 July 1902 in Nebraska, though her gravestone says 5 July 1902.⁵

Dorothy M. Powell is buried in Valhalla Memorial Park, North Hollywood, Los Angeles County, California.

This is probably the Nancy E. Wheelock that married John R. Mayfield 19 Feb 1965 in Los Angeles. She worked as a stewardess for American Airlines and was fired on 1 May 1966 for being married. At the time, the airlines required stewardesses to be single. She fought it in arbitration, and won a landmark ruling that forced the airline to reinstate her, along with many other married stewardesses who were fired.¹
