Archippus was sometimes referred to as Archibald in the early records of Worcester County. Refer to the will of his great uncle, John Wheelock, Worcester County Probate Records, case 63708; and the Worcester County Registry of Deeds, Book 192, pg. 103.
Archippus was born in Lancaster, MA, where he served in the Revolutionary War. He removed to Sanborton, NH, as a young man. He lived on the Mountain Road, near New Hampton line (Site 5, addition lots). He then removed to Littleton, NH, where he resided from 1809 to 1825; again to Coventry, VT, 1825 to 1826; and thence to Newport, VT, where he died.
The Vermont marriage record for Archippus and Mrs. Julia Goodwin gives a marriage date of 10 July 1840.
He was a farmer, and attended the Congregational Church.
