Asa settled in Wardsboro, Vt., according to "History of the Town of Shrewsbury, 1717 to 1829", by Ward. The offspring of Asa are taken from the same source. He served for a time in Wardsboro as Justice of the Peace, and Town Clerk. His signature appears frequently on deeds and other town records. In 1806, he witnessed a deed with Abigail Wheelock, suggesting that he and Abigail Reed were married by that date. (Wardsboro Land Records, Wardsboro Town Clerks Office, book 3, pg 372, Hazeltine to Dexter).
Asa fought in the Revolutionary War, a Private in Colonel Job Cushing's Regiment.
