According to "The History of Shrewsbury", by Ward, Erastus and his brother Luke lived on the Wheelock homestead in Shrewsbury, at the time Ward wrote the book, in 1847. He is enumerated in the 1855 Census for Worcester County, MA, living in Shrewsbury, age 37, with Henry Wheelock, age 4. Six others with various last names reside in the same dwelling, but his wife, Susan, does not appear.
