M. Candace Murray's first name is written in the Vermont VRs; it appears as Midon or Miron, but is unclear.
Rachel (Beriah, Thomas, Thomas, Edmund) is the daughter of Beriah Rice and Mary Goodenow, of Marlborough, Mass. Mary is the daughter of Samuel Goodenow, Jr. and Sarah Brigham. Mary's grandfather (Samuel Goodenow, Sr.) owned the Garrison House which is marked on Rt. 20 in Northboro, Mass. (formerly part of Marlborough, Mass.). Mary's aunt, Mary Goodnow, died when Indians attacked the town of Northboro in 1707. Her grave is marked by the Northboro Historical Commission, not far from her father's Garrison House.
Rachel's sister Sarah married Obadiah's brother, Elias Wheelock.
