'Read' may not be Caroline's maiden name, since the Boston marriage record (47:36) indicates that it is her second marriage.

Caroline F. Wheelock's 1855 death is recorded in Boston (MA 95:45). The record does not confirm her identity as Abel Wheelock's wife; but this is consistent with the census records, which shows Abel with a different spouse in 1860.
