"The History of Shrewsbury", by Andrew Ward identifies Abigail Wheelock's husband as ____ Dewing. However, this is contradicted by her Worcester marriage record to Horace Mason. Abigail's sister, Mary, married Joel Dewing, which no doubt led to the confusion in "The History of Shrewsbury". Amsterdam is listed as Horace's residence in their marriage record. The couple appears in Amsterdam, NY in the 1860 Census, and probably spent the rest of their lives there. Abigail Adams Wheelock died in West Carthage, NY, 1893, in the home of her son, Marcus P. Mason. (Src: "Biographies and Family Sketches for the town of Wilna", from "The Growth of a Century", by John A.
