Though the birth date on her Vermont birth record is 27 Nov 1820, a revised record submitted by C. P. Silloway of Minneapolis, Minn in 1923 states she was born 27 Nov 1819, which agrees with the Sons of the American Revolution Membership applications (submitted by Charles Paine Silloway of Minneapolis), and her headstone.

She is enumerated in the 1880 census, widowed, age 60, living in Minneapolis, Hennepin Co, MN, with Henry F. Silloway, son, age 36, born Vermont, and Austin R. Silloway, son, age 27, born Massachusetts.

There was another Roxana Silloway living in Montpelier and Berlin, Vermont, found in the 1860, 1870, and 1880 census, daughter of Zedekiah Silloway.

Carrie Wheelock was born and lived most of her days in Barre, Vermont. She took up the profession of teaching kindergarten, which she apparently pursued most of her adult life.

The papers of the Langdon C. Wheelock family, archived in the Aldrich Public Library in Barre, Vt. contain a "Composition Book" maintained by Carrie. Inside this book is a business card which reads: "The Kindergarten will open in Mrs. Wheelocks Main St. home, Monday, Aug 30, 1886, terms $4/month, hours 9 to 12 AM."

The composition book has several hundred entries, one for each of her kindergarten students. Each entry indicates date of birth, date of entry into the kindergarten, and newspaper clippings indicating important events in the life of that person, including in some cases, the obituary.

Carrie obviously maintained this album over many years of her life, and took great pride in the accomplishments of her students.

There is no indication that she ever married.
