Research Notes

Lucinda's first name is identified in the Vermont death record of Cordelia Wheelock whose parents were identified as Woodward and Lucinda. A different first name is given in the 1880 census, in which she is identified as Lucretia Wheelock, age 71, widowed, born in Vermont, her parents both born in Connecticut. She was living in the Windsor town farm at the time.

Woodward Wheelock and his wife were known to be living at the poor farm in Windsor during the later stages of their lives. Both are listed together (Woodward Wheelock, aged 80, Mrs. Wheelock, aged 70) as residents of the Windsor town farm in 1878 in the 1878 Windsor Annual Report¹

According to these town records, Woodward died in 1879 (when the town paid for a coffin), and Lucinda died in 1896 (when the town, again, paid for a coffin).

Both are buried together in the Old South Church Cemetery, in Windsor, Windsor Co, VT. The headstone reads "Mr. and Mrs. Wheelock".²
