Per Marian's obit, she came to San Francisco in 1941, where she was an employee of the American International Group, working as an accountant for 27 years. She married James O. Scott shortly after she moved to California. They were later divorced, after which she married Thomas Oxstien in 1968. She was the mother of three children [all with James O. Scott]: Mrs. Sandra Donaldson and Gail Prud'homme, both of Ogden, Utah, and James E. Scott of Danville, California.¹

On 9 April 1940, the date she was enumerated inthe 1940 census, Marian was living in Ogden, Weber County, Utah, with her parents. She was age 22, a stenographer.

On 19 Aug 1940 she married Richard Christman.

In 1945, Jas O. Scott, wife Marian, was living in San Francisco, residence 2107 Ellis.

By 1950 (per genealogies on Ancestry.com) she was 31, married to James O. Scott, 33, with daughter Sandra S., age 5, and James E. age 2, both born in California.

In her mother's obit, published in the Salt Lake Tribune (Salt Lake CIty, Utah), 11 Nov 1953, she was called Marion Scott of San Francisco.

In 1955, Jas O and Marion A. Scott were living on 2118 34th Avenue in San Francisco. James was a plumber (image 1178 of 2306 in San Francisco City Directory at Ancestry.com).

In the obituary of her father, published in the 26 Mar 1958 edition of The Ogden Standard-Examiner (Ogden, Utah), she was called Marian Scott, wife of James.

In her entry in "U.S., Social Security Applications and Claims Index, 1936-2007," Ancestry.com she was Marion Alice Wheelock in Dec 1936, Marion Alice Scott in Sep 1955, Marion A. Oxstien in Dec 1969, and 25 May 1982.

In 1989, Marion Oxstien was living in San Francisco, per "U.S., Public Records Index, 1950-1993, Volume 1," at Ancestry.com - possibly a different person.

Per Social Security Death Index, 1935-2014, her name was Marion A. Oxstien, born 30 Apr 1918, died 22 May 1989.

Her obituary was found in the 23 May 1989 edition of the San Francisco Chronicle (San Francisco, California), p. 30, col. 5, GenealogyBank.com, in a search for Marion Oxstien, with no other constraints on the search. She moved to SF in 1941, married James O. Scott, later divorced. She married Thomas Oxstien in 1968. She worked for the American International Group as an accountant in San Francisco for 27 years.
