Per obituary in the 31 October 2000 edition of the Ukiah Daily Journal (Ukiah, California), James O. Scott left as survivors his daughters Sandy Donaldson and Gail Prud'Homme, both of Ogden, Utah, and his son Butch Scott of Alamo; as well as several step-sons and step-daughters. Also surviving him was his wife, Shirley (Caughey) Scott, whom he married 2 Sep 1981.¹

Research Notes for James O. Scott:

There is a Pilot Point, Denton County, Texas birth record for James Odell Scott, born out of wedlock to Luther H. Scott and Conie Thomas, 14 May 1918. This may be the same person, though the birth date differs from that given by James Odell Scott in his World War II draft registration card, and in his obituary.²

To confuse matters, there was another James Scott in California who died on the same date, 20 Oct 2000, in Alhambra, Los Angeles County. He was born 4 Aug 1918, in Tacoma, Washington, son of James Scott.³
