Notes:

Nancy was appointed administrator of her husband's estate on 12 May 1812.¹ In 1850 and 1860 she was living in Woodbury, Washington County, Vermont, in the household of her daughter, Harriet (Ainsworth) Blake. Both records place her birth around 1786 in Massachusetts. She was not found in the 1870 census.

Notes:

According to Marcus Waite, William lived in St. Johnsbury, Caledonia County, Vermont, "became insane, and his brother Elijah came from Leicester [Massachusetts], and took him back to his home where he died." This is consistent with the Worcester County probate records, which show that on 4 Feb 1823, Elijah Thayer was appointed guardian of his brother, William, previously of Calais, Vermont, who was declared "non compos mentis" - insane.¹

William died in Leicester 11 Oct 1828, aged 59 per record there, disagreeing with the Calais, Vermont, birth record.
