Davis Wheelock
Birth: 28 Dec 1786, Sturbridge, Worcester, MA
- Sturbridge Vital Records to 1850
Burial: North Cemetery, Union, CT
- New England Historical and Genealogical Society Cemetery Transcriptions, NEHGS Manuscript Collections, online at http://www.NewEnglandAncestors.org, Feb 2004. The names are David (sic) Wheelock and Lucinda Braekett Wheelock.
Father: Dennison Wheelock
Mother: Jemima Davis
Spouse: Lucinda Stone
Marriage: 8 Dec 1833, Southbridge, Worcester, MA
- Southbridge Vital Records
Notes:
In 1840 they were living in Southbridge (per 1840 Federal Census), with a daughter under 5 years, and with the children from Lucinda's previous marriage. In 1850, they are still living in Southbridge, with Henrietta F. Wheelock age 12 (placing her birth in 1838), and Sumner Brackett (probably a child from Lucinda's previous marriage). In 1860, Davis, age 73, and Lucinda, age 66, are living in Union, CT, with members of the "Town" family: Mariam, age 53, Sarah age 38, and Freeman, age 10. Henrietta F. is no longer in the household.
Though no birth record is found, Henrietta F. Wheelock is probably the Frances Wheelock who married Abial Towne 10 June 1855 (per record of gg-grandson, Randall Towne), both of whom are buried in Union, CT.
In 1860, Frances is living with Abial Town in Union, with their daughter, Emma, age 1, and other members of the Town family: Joseph, age 73, and Lucinda, age 40. Frances is buried next to her husband, Abial, in the New Cemetery, Union, CT. Her inscription (transcribed by Barbour): "Frances H. S. Wheelock, his wife, b. May 11, 1838, d. Feb. 16, 1926. Mother."
Davis Wheelock and Lucinda Brackett are buried in the North Cemetery, Union, CT.
