Birth: about 1744
Death: 2 Nov 1812, Warren, Worcester Co, MA
Spouse: Robert Kelley
Marriage: 22 Oct 1771, Warren, Worcester Co, MA
Spouse: Isaac Patrick
Marriage: 12 Dec 1793, Charlton, Worcester Co, MA
Notes:
Lydia was a resident of Western (now Warren), Worcester County, Massachusetts, when she married Robert Kelley (of Charlton) 22 Oct 1771. He died probably June 1783 in Charlton (based on his probate records). On 5 July 1783 William Marrs of Charlton was appointed guardian of Robert and Lydia's minor children: Mary, age 11, Lydia, 9, Robert, 7, Henry, 5, William, 3, and Abner, 6 months.1 Per profile on FamilySearch Lydia and William were children of James Marr and Mary Wallace, who both died in Warren.2
Lydia Kelley is enumerated in the 1790 census living in Charlton with 1 male under 16, and 3 females.
In Charlton, on 12 Dec 1793, Mrs. Lydia Kelley of Charlton married Mr. Isaac Patrick of Western.3
This was probably Lydia (Marrs) Kelley, based on the following evidence:
1) Her daughter, Lydia Kelley, is often asserted to be the wife of Isaac Patrick, but this was not case. See notes for Lydia Kelley (about 1774 - 1852).
2) Isaac Patrick was of similar age as Lydia (Marrs) Kelley. Based on her expected age at marriage (20-30) to Robert Kelley, she would have been born between 1741 and 1751. Isaac Patrick, based on death record (see below), was born about 1741. Both had roots in Warren, suggesting they may have been aquainted in their younger days.
3) Lydia Kelley, presumed widow of Robert, was enumerated in the 1790 census living in Charlton, where most of her children were probably born. But she was not found in the 1800 census, consistent with a marriage in 1793.
4) The timeline for Lydia's marriage to Isaac, and her death, works perfectly:
Isaac Patrick's first wife, Jane (Anderson) Patrick died 9 June 1793, in her 46th year.4 Isaac and Jane had multiple children in Warren, including Joseph Wiley Patrick who was born in Warren 13 June 1788,4 mentioned below.5
In a signed statement, Lydia, widow of Isaac Patrick, and Joseph W. Patrick, son of Isaac, both declined administration responsibilites for the estate of Isaac Patrick. The statement was undated, but must have been written before Tyler Burroughs was appointed administrator of the estate, about June 1812. This proves that the Isaac Patrick who married Lydia was the same man that married Jane Anderson in Warren.
Widow Lydia Patrick died 2 Nov 1812 in Warren, age 68, placing her birth date around 1744 - well within the range suggested by her date of marriage to Robert Kelley.4
Lydia Patrick is not mentioned in the probate records of Isaac after about June 1812, when she signed the probate statement mentioned above. Isaac's probate records contain a decree, dated 6 June 1815, requesting the widow, heirs, and creditors of Isaac Patrick to appear in court. In the decree, the word "widow" was crossed out, suggesting she was deceased - consistent with the death date of Widow Lydia Patrick in the Warren records.
5) The death date of Lydia (Marrs) Kelley is sometimes given as 1 Feb 1844, from the Charlton death record for "Mrs Kelley, d. Feb. 1, 1844, age 83". This implies a birth date of about 1761, which implies an age of about 10 when she married Robert Kelley - highly improbable. Mrs. Kelley was certainly a different person.

Jothan served in the Revolutionary War. He entered service in 1781, at the age of 18, as a private.
There is an 11 Nov 1802 Vermont marriage record for Jonathan Wheelock of Cavendish and Relief Harris. Some have claimed this was Jotham; supporting evidence is found in a 1809 Cavendish, VT birth record for Benjamin Harris Wheelock, son of Jotham and Relief. Additional supporting evidence is found in the 1810 Census record for Jotham Wheelock (indexed under Latham Wheelock at www.FamilySearch.org and www.Ancestry.com). The census indicates that Jotham (age 45 or older) lived with a woman, age 16-25, and a young boy, age under 10 (presumably Benjamin Harris Wheelock).
Guardianships were drawn up for Jotham in 1817, and 1831, on file in Volume 3 of the Windsor County Probate office, VT. The probate index refers to him as "insane".
Jotham is buried on the "old Saunders farm", on the upper end of the so-called Town-Farm Road. His monument, the only one in the cemetery, was erected by Col. William Wilgus, a descendant.1.
