Sally Howe

Birth: 7 Jun 1819, Batavia, Genesee Co, NY

Death: 28 Dec 1899, Batavia, Genesee Co, NY

Father: Jabez Howe
Mother: Relief Wheelock

Spouse: Salmon B. Lusk
Marriage:

Notes:

Per Gazetteer and Biographical Record of Genesee County, NY, Sally, daughter of Jabez and Relief (Wheelock) Howe, married Salmon B. Lusk, son of William and Althea (Sanford) Lusk. The gazetteer article contains a list of children for this couple.1

Sally and Salmon are found living in Batavia in the 1850, 1855, 1860, 1870, 1875, and 1880 census.

A probate notice for Jabez Howe, in the Albany Argus, dated 9 Aug 1851, lists Sally and her husband, Salmon B. Lusk, as heirs of Jabez Howe, late of Batavia, deceased.2

Sally was executrix to her husband's estate, and submitted her husbands will to the probate court on 15 Mar 1897.3

She died in Batavia, 28 Dec 1899.4

Per obit, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jabez Howe, and died at her home on East Main Street in Batavia. She was born 7 June 1819, and had always resided in Batavia. She was survived by two sons, Frank R. and WIll B. Lusk of Rago, Kansas; and five daughters, Mrs. Robert Adams and Mrs. H. W. Grenslet of Sparta, Ill.; Mrs. J. J. Sherman, of Chicago; Mrs. George D. Emery of Boston; and Mrs. S. W. Winans, of Batavia, who resided with her.5

A John Wheelock, born 1792 in MA (per 1850, 1860 Federal Census) was living with Sally and Salmon in Batavia, Genessee Co, NY in 1850 and 1860. John is presumably a close relative of Sally's mother, Relief (Wheelock) Howe.
