After the death of her husband in 1777, Azubah appears to have been aided by her brother, Peter Wheelock, of Calais, VT. He assisted in the care of her children, both of whom came to Calais with his family in 1789. Azubah owned various parcels of real estate in Calais, but it is not certain whether she ever established permanent residence there.^1,2 She appears on a list of Calais residents who paid the 1798 Vermont direct tax, her payment being 39 cents.³ Her date of death, and whether she ever married again is not known.
