Raymond died of pancreatic cancer. He helped compile much of the genealogical information about the descendants of Omar Wheelock and Hattie Collier that was later supplied by his cousin, Arlene (Jeronime) Fitzgerald, and presented here in these records.
The first paragraph of his obituary, which appeared in the "Times-Argus", was supplied by Arlene (Jeronime) Fitzgerald.
"CALAIS- A service of remembrance will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Barre Congregational Church for Raymond H. Wheelock, Ph.D., a retired medical researcher and descendant of pioneer Calais settlers, who died August 26,1994 at his home on Collar Hill Road after a long illness. The Rev. David Vanderlinde-Abernathy will officiate."
