The headstone for Gershom, located in the Shrewsbury Cemetery, was in a state of disrepair in 1998 - broken in half. Gershom removed from Medfield to Shrewsbury after the death of his first wife, Abigal Adams. Abigail is buried in Medfield, along with their infant daughter, Margaret.

Maiden name Nourse, per Shrewsbury marriage record (MA 31:238).
