"The History of Royalton, VT", by Evelyn M. Wood Lovejoy, 1911, has the following to say about David: "After his father went away, David bought a part of the Lindlay farm, and in 1847 he wold this with the home farm to Daniel Woodward. He was an influential member of the M. E. church and sold his last pew in 1852. He removed to Royalton Village and died there." His death record in the Vermont VRs specifies an age at death of 73y 11m 9d, which would give a birth date of 2 July 1800, in disagreement with "The History of Royalton, VT".

The will of Mary's father, Eleazar, refers to Mary Lawrence, Daniel Lawrence, and Esther Lawrence - children of Mary. (See "The Wheelock Family of Calais, Vermont", M. W. Waite, pg. 13). Tilden, in "History of Medfield", states that David and his wife Mary both died in 1714. But the records of Medfield and surrounding towns show no such death records. There is, however, a Medfield record showing that Mary Clark married Daniel Laurence 4 May 1705.
