The marriage notice for Joel and Mary is published in the 18 Feb 1832 edition of the Columbian Centinel, and indicates that Joel is from Boylston, and that the two were married in Grafton. Joel's parents are presumed to be Josiah Wheelock and Thankful Harrington, of Concord, MA, based on the 13 Dec 1856 Worcester marriage record (Mass Archives 101:279) between Sophronia Reed (daughter of Lewis Kemp) and Joel H. Wheelock; in which Joel, age 50, painter, born in Boston, is identified as the son of Josiah and Thankful Wheelock. This is the second marriage for both.
