Stella, inflicted with TB, was taken to California by her husband, Chester E. Corry. An accomplished pianist, she raised two children, Chester E. Corry, II, and Marj Corry. Unfortunately, Stella died while the children were quite young. (Source: Christy Van Heukelem, great granddaughter of Stella (Smith) Corry, Jan 2000.)

This is, no doubt, the James Wheelock buried in Purmort Cemetery, De Peyster, NY. The headstone reads as follows: James Whelock, died May 29, 1855, Aged 79 yrs. Buried adjacent is his wife: wife of James Wheelock, d. Sept 11, 1849; aged 69 yrs. An inventory of the cemetery, taken by Anne Cady was taken in 2000, and placed online at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~stlawgen/CEMETERY/Purmort/Purmort.HTM
Around 1814 James Wheelock moved from Marlborough, NH, to Pittsford, Rutland County, VT. In 1836, he removed to De Peyster, NY, with his wife, and three youngest children. His son, William Barker Wheelock, appears to have removed to De Peyster first, in 1824. (Source: "History Of St. Lawrence County, NY", by Samuel W. Durant, published by L. H. Everts & Co, Philadelphia, 1878, pgs 178, 179. Kindly supplied by David Battey, a descendant of William Barker Wheelock's sister, Wealthy Wheelock, Feb 2003.)

It is not proven that Julia was the daughter of Martin and Clarissa. But the proximity of her headstone to Roxanna, Martin, and Clarissa, and her appearance in the 1850 Census living in the same household is taken as sufficient evidence.
