She made her will on 29 Jan 1836, and it was proved on 12 Apr 1836. In it she left bequests to her son, David Burden, and his daughter, Hannah L. Burden; a bequest was also made to Alice Fay, wife of Stephen Fay, and she named Solomon Hicks of Charlton her "trusty friend" as executor. The will was witnessed by Abijah Lamb, Horace P. Hick, and George Lamb.¹

Research Notes:

David Borden, son of Hannah and Asa Borden, was born in Charlton 7 July 1802, likely the David mentioned in the will.

Daniel Borden, son of Asa and Hannah, was born "at Cituate, R.I." 23 Apr 1795, recorded in Charlton.

No death for Asa, Daniel, or David is recorded in Charlton under Borden, Burden, or Burdon.

However, Dr. Asa Borden died 3 Oct 1808, aged 71, buried in Bay Path Cemetery, Charlton (where Hannah is buried).²

Dr. Asa Burden of Scituate, R.I. married Hannah Gleason 24 Dec 1794 in Oxford.³

Hannah Gleason, daughter of Daniel and Martha, was born 11 Oct 1770 in Oxford.³ This matches her age of 65 (per headstone) when she died 12 Mar 1836.

His death is not recorded in Charlton. Descendants of David and Amyes (Colle) Thomson and their son John, by Henry Amy, gives a death date of "after 1759." But he and his wife Ruth were alive on 14 Mar 1769, when they signed a deed acknowledging the sale of a parcel of land in Charlton to Thomas Green of Leicester and Obadiah McIntire of Charlton.²
