The Montpelier, VT marriage record for Henry George Brown and Flora Mabel Wheelock identifies his age as 20 (consistent with the 1910 U.S. census record), his birth place as Montpelier, and his parents as David Brown and Eliz. (Lavina).1
Henry Brown, age 13, born Jun 1886, is enumerated in the 1900 census living in the household of his father, David Brown, age 67, born in "Canada, France," machinist, and his wife Elizabeth, age 60, also born in "Canada, France." Other children in the household include Carrie, daughter, born Dec 1880, Josephine, relation not specified, born Mar 1874, William, son, born Sep 1876, and Joseph, son born Mar 1879. All children were born in Vermont.
David, his wife Elizabeth, and four children (not including Henry) are enumerated in the 1880 census, living in Montpelier.
His mother's maiden name is Elizabeth Lavine (or Levigne), per 10 Mar 1879 Montpelier birth record of his brother, Joseph Perley Brown, and the 1 Oct 1876 Montpelier birth record of his brother, William.
His father is probably the David Brown, born 2 Jan 1834 in Canada, died 26 Nov 1917 in Montpelier, VT.2
David Brown's obituary in the Barre newspaper states that he passed away in Montpelier, aged 83 years, longtime resident, leaves his wife (unnamed), three daughters Carrie, Josephine, and Lizzie, and two sons, William and Henry.3
Mrs. David Brown died in Montpelier on 20 May 1920. Her obituary indicates that she was age 79, a native of Canada, and a fifty year resident of Montpelier. She was survived by three children, William Brown and Miss Carrie Brown of Montpelier, and Mrs. Elizabeth Emerson of Providence, Rhode Island. Also, three sisters: Mrs. John Girard, Mrs. James Campbell, and Mrs. Loren Friend, all of Montpelier.4 However, her obituary in the Montpelier Evening Argus, 21 May 1920, states that she is survived by four children: Mrs. Charles Emerson of Providence, RI, Miss Carrie Brown, William and Henry Brown, and three sisters, Mrs. John Girard, Mrs. Loren J. Friend, and Mrs. James Campbell, all of Montpelier.
