The family is living in Mendon in 1855, with son Edwin C. Wheelock (5).

He's in Milford in 1860, living alone.

In Aug 1862 he enlisted in Company C, Massachusetts 36th Infantry Regiment. He was mustered on in June 1865 in Alexandria, VA.¹

In 1870, he's again in Milford, living wih wife Mary, son Edward C. (20), and daughter Caroline (9).

In 1880, he's in Framingham, with wife Mary, and daughter Carrie L. Wheelock (19).

He does not appear in the 1900 census, but his wife, Mary E., born Nov 1826, in Vermont, appears there as a boarder, widowed.
