Notes:

William Hill was the son of Micah and Sally (per death record), and is of the eight generation from John Hill, one of the early settlers of Plymouth, MA (circa 1632).

He was engaged in the mercantile business at Wilkinsonville, in the firm Dudley and Hill (1836). He was a prominent man in the affairs of Sutton, serving on the board of selectmen, assessors, etc. He served as a representative to the general court, and was a senator from the 25th Representative District of Worcester County. In 1878 he was a director of the Grafton National Bank.
