Since other records confirm the birth date for Mabel Louise (e.g. 1900 Census), the birth record for Anna Maria Wolf Wheelock must be incorrect in some way.

He was a cadet at West Point from 1846 to 1850, when he graduated 6th in his class of 44. He served as a 2nd Lieut. of Artillery in the Florida Hostilities against the Seminole Indians. From 1851 to 1855 he was Asst. Professor at Ft. Sumter.

He served as a Colonel in the 7th Massachusetts Volunteers during the Civil War. He resigned 31 Jan 1862, and died in April 1862 at Washington, D.C.¹
