Notes:
Harrison R. Blanchard was from Jacksonville, FL, at the time of his marriage to Ruth Morse Wheelock, per Charlton VRs.
He was a Captain in the Florida Wars. His wife, Harriet C. Blanchard, widow, collected a pension based on his service. He built the first saw mill in Jacksonville, was a vestryman at St. John's Episcopal Church when it was incorporated in 1839, and later served as a trustee for the church.
He moved to Palatka around 1849, and was it's first mayor, and a judge of probate there.
There is no indication that he served in the Civil War. In a letter dated Aug 1865, in which he petitioned the U.S. government to be reimbursed for cotton that was taken from him, he declares "I am and ever have been a loyal citizen of the United States though a resident of the state of Florida. I have not been identified or in any way engaged in the cause of the late rebellion, nor committed any act directly or indirectly whereby my property could be made liable to seizure and confiscation."
He had one daughter by his first wife, who died shortly after childbirth. He had three children by his second wife: Frederick H. Blanchard, Franklin C. Blanchard, and Mary E. (Minnie) Blanchard.
He is enumerated in the 1850 census living in Putnam Co, Florida, age 43, with Harriett C. Blanchard, age 32, Ruth M. Blanchard, age 10, and F. H. Blanchard, age 5.
In 1860 he was again living in Palatka, Putnam Co, FL, age 52, born in MA, with Harriet C. Blanchard, age 42, born MD, with children Frederick H. Blanchard, age 15, Franklin C. Blanchard, age 8, and Mary E. Blanchard, age 4, all born in FL.
The family resided it Palatka again in 1870, with the same family members, and a servant, by the name of Richard.
Harrison Blanchard does not appear in the 1880 census, but his wife and two children: Fred H., 35, farmer, and Minnie E., 27, school teacher were living in Palatka.

Peter Blanchard of Charlton died intestate in 1856 in Charlton, Worc Co probate case 5944. Estate administered by Edmund Kendall of Westminster, provision made for the widow, Betsey. He left "five acres of land more or less with a dwelling house and barn standing thereon $850." Children not identified.
