"The History of Kent County, Michigan", refers to Lurana Wheelock, daughter of Reu Wheelock and Rosanna. She probably married Frederick Benham in NY, but the place of marriage is uncertain. The two moved to Washtenaw Co, Michigan in 1831, and then to Kent County, Michigan in 1847. (Source: "The History of Kent County, Michigan")

Russell's headstone records age 52 at time of death. The Grafton VRs record his age at death 52 yrs, 5 months, 19 days. He died of "Inflammation of bowels." Russell was a member of the local militia unit by the name of "The Granadier Company" in 1833, under the command of Benjamin Aldrich. (Source: "History of Grafton", by Pierce)
Salmon is referred to as "Solomon" in DAR records.
Though no proof is yet found, Salmon may be the son of Abner Wheelock and Mary Brown of Leominster, MA. The clues are as follows:
1) Salmon was born in the right time frame, circa 1774.
2) The filing of marriage intention in Leominster suggests that he may have lived there. (Leominster Vital Records Intention Filed 23 Feb 1794.)
3) He lived in Rockingham, VT, and joined the church there on the same date (3 Oct 1795) as did Abner Wheelock and Jonathan Wheelock, who may also be children of Abner Wheelock and Mary Brown.
Another possibility is that he is the Samuel Wheelock, son of Jonathan Wheelock and Thankful Haskell baptized in Lancaster, 5 Apr 1772. The dates match, and the two families share similar names.
