The fate of Amasa Wheelock has been lost to history. His 1789 marriage to Abigail Chase is firmly recorded in Townshend, VT; and he appears in the 1790 Census there with his wife (no children); but records of him after this date have not been found. In 1793, Abigail married her cousin, Enoch Chase, per the book "Seven Generations of the Descendants of Aquila and Thomas Chase", by John Chase, and George Chamberlain, Picton Press, 2002. So Amasa must have died before that date. There are no records of children born to Amasa and Abigail in Townshend. Abigail and Enoch moved to Little Valley, Cattaraugus Co, NY between 1802 (when Enoch appears in the Townshend Records) and 1820 (when he appears in the Federal Census in Little Valley). Other members of the Wheelock and Chase families also moved to Little Valley, including Amasa's sister (Irena Wheelock) and Abigail's brother (Henry Chase). Another Amasa Wheelock appears in the 1830 Census living in Little Valley, NY. He and his wife are both between 30 and 40 years of age, with four young boys, and a young girl. Living nearby is Henry Chase (probably Irena's husband). Enoch, who passed away in 1825, does not appear. This Amasa is probably the Amasa Wheelock (born 7 Mar 1793) who married Sophia Bensley 2 Oct 1817 in NY. Amasa and Sophia were known to be in Little Valley in 1819, when their daughter Electa was born (per "The Benchley-Bensley Family", by Roger D. Joslyn, The New England Historical and Genealogical Register, 1847 - 1994, Vol. 142, 1988, pages 193-194). The dates, locations, and relationships strongly suggest that this Amasa is the son of Amasa Wheelock and Abigail Chase, or at least closely related. But proof certain has not yet been found.

The private records of Persis (Park) Ivett state that Scinda had no children. Note that Scinda had an aunt, born in Charlton, MA, whose name is recorded in the Charlton Vital Records as Cynda. Scinda's headstone reads as follows: Scinda, daughter of Silas and Rena Wheelock, died Oct. 14, 1845, in the 37th year of her life.
