Martin's name appears in the Charlton and Spencer Vital Records as Morton, Martin, and Mertin. An 1834 map of Spencer shows M. Wheelock living at the southwest intersection of Clark Rd. and Buteau Road in Spencer, not far from where his brother Ephraim Wheelock probably lived.
Martin Wheelock, age 62, and his wife, Clarissa Wheelock, age 56, appear in the 1850 Federal Census living in Spencer, MA. In the same household is Amasa, age 32, John, age 28, and Julia, age 22.
In the Greenville Cemetery in Leicester, MA, buried next to Martin and Clarissa Wheelock is a Julia A. Wheelock, born 18 Feb 1827 (5?), died 17 Sep 1897. Roxanna, daughter of Martin and Clarissa is adjacent to Julia.
Martin's will is on file at the Worcester County Probate office, case number 63751.
