Clifford Wheelock's obituary refers to daughter Mrs. Gwyneth Labus of Waukegan, and a son, Truman Wheelock, of New York State. He was survived by his wife Myrtle. (Src: Sterling Daily Gazette, 9 Oct 1953.)

Ruth was a well know educator and Congregationalist in Hartford, CT. From 1785 to 1807 she established a school which tought more than 2,000 young women from around the world. Her tombstone reads:
"Madam Ruth Patten Relict of Rev. William Patten and daughter of Rev. Eleazer Wheelock D. D. Founder and first President of Dartmouth College, NH. She fell asleep in Jesus Dec 5 1831 in the XCII year of her age. She was 78 years a member of the Church, was strong in faith, cheerful in trials, fervent in prayer, full of great works. A mother in Israel."
