The inscription on Lydias stone in Center Cemetery, Lyman, NH reads: Lydia wife of Joseph Wheelock, formerly wife of Aaron Wheelock d. Oct. 6, 1869 AE. 46 y's. 7 m's.

She married her husband's cousin, Joseph Wheelock, shortly after Aaron died. She is referred to as "Mrs. Lydia Wheelock of Lyman, NH" in the 19 Jan 1866 announcement of her marriage to Mr. Joseph Wheelock, of Coventry.¹

Her death notice in the 26 Oct 1869 edition of the Burlington Free Press refers to her as "Mrs. Lydia Wheelock, of Coventry, died Oct 6, aged 47."

Per marriage record he was a resident of Jericho, Chittenden County, Vermont, when he married Orilla Wheelock.

During the Civil War he was a private in Co. D, 1st Regiment Vermont Heavy Artillery. He also served in the 11th Vermont Infantry, and in the 26th Co. 2nd Battalion Veteran Reserve Corps.

On 15 Aug 18979 he successfully applied for and later received a Civil War pension. After he died, his wife applied for widows pension, which she received, certificate 278301.¹
