Christine's parents, William MacCullough and Christine MacCullough, were both from Scotland.
Abner Wheelock appears on a list of men who attended a Special Meeting in Rockingham, VT, 22 May 1797, for the choice of a Representative for Congress - by order of the Chief Magistrate of the State of Vermont.
(Source: "Vital Records of Rockingham, VT, and Records of the First Church of Rockingham, VT, 1773-1839", compiled by Thomas Bellows Peck, published 1908 and 1902 respectively, and then by the Genealogical Society of Vermont, 1994)
Though no proof is yet found, Abner may be the son of Abner Wheelock and Mary Brown of Leominster, MA, who was born in Leominster 6 Jan 1765. The clues are as follows:
1) He is the right age.
2) The name fits.
3) He had a sister Betsey, who died in 1790, and who may be the namesake of his daughter Betsy, b. 1797.
4) He lived in Rockingham, VT, and joined the church there on the same date (3 Oct 1795) as did Jonathan Wheelock, who may also be a child of Abner Wheelock and Mary Brown.
An Abner Wheelock, age probably between 50 and 70, appears in the 1830 Federal Census, living in Moriah, Essex Co, NY. Living nearby in the same census is his son (probably), Loran Wheelock.
In 1840, his sons George W. and Squire K. Wheelock appear in the census living in Moriah. Abner is absent from the 1840 and later census records; but there is an older male (age 60-70) living in the home of his son, Squire, in the 1840 Census.
