Captain Abel Smith was formerly of Hubbardston, MA, located in Eden, VT. They had three sons, Abel, Asa, and John, and nine daughters, Sally, Lucretia, Matilda, Marcia, Lorenza, Katherine, Betsy, Martha, and Mary. Abel and Salley are buried in Eden Corners Cemetery. Their daughter Lorenza Smith married (1) Daniel Clark, and (2) Winslow Wheelock.
