The evidence that this Charles Wheelock is the one that married Elizabeth Hastings of Boylston is based on the fact that (1) Charles, son of David and Naomi, was of the right age at the time of marriage, and (2) both Charles (son of David and Naomi) and Elizabeth (daughter of Thomas and E. Hastings) died in Leominster, MA, and (3) Charles and Elizabeth appear in Census records in Leominster.

The Sturbridge Vital Records make note that the marriage date of 29 Feb 1794 for Eleazer and Polly is in error, since 1794 was not a leap year.
The birth of Ebenezer does not appear in the Sturbridge VRs, but is indicated by Henry J. Clarke in "Captain Ralph Wheelock of Sturbridge, His Ancestry and Some of His Descendants", 1903.
The Sturbridge VRs report the marriage intention of Eleazer Wheelock and Abigail Wheeler of Boston, 5 Nov 1815. This is probably the same Eleazer. However, no children of this marriage are recorded in Sturbridge, Southbridge, or surrounding towns.
Three unnamed children of Eleazar died, 2 in the same year that his wife died (1805). They are ____ Wheelock, ch. Eleazer, June 24, 1798; ____ Wheelock ch. Eleazer, consumption, Apr 19, 1805; and ____ Wheelock, ch. Eleazer, May 5, 1805.

The death date of 22 July 1871 is not definitively proven, but the following evidence exists: (1) The headstone reads "Wheelock, Jane M., d. 22 July 1871, age 38[5?] years, 25 days. If we take the age to be 35, this would place her birth date at 27 June 1836. (2) The headstone is in the same cemetery as that of her father, Wate Wheelock. (3) No record of marriage is found for Jane in the Charlton, Spencer, Mendon, or Leicester VRs, rendering plausible her retention of the last name "Wheelock".
