John was a farmer in Newton Township, Miami Co, OH. His estate was entered into probate 9 May 1898. The "History of Miami County, Ohio", by W. H. Beers, published Chicago, 1880, pg. 795 has further information on John Teague.
John Teague is the son of Moses Teague. Moses and his father Samuel Teague moved from South Carolina to southwest Ohio between 1800 and 1805.
John Teague's death certificate gives date of death as 10 May 1898, in disagreement with the obituary (which gives 4 May 1898). Since other Miami Co records give 9 May 1898 as the date the estate entered probate, it is assumed the 4 May 1898 date is more accurate.
