Beatrice graduated from St. Mary's Academy in June 1933, and graduated from Fredonia Normal School in June 1936. She continued her education in 1964 and received a BA degree in elementary education from Fredonia State University College, and made the Deans List. She first taught in Leon, NY (Leon II, grades 1st - 6th; Leon, NY on the Flat Iron Rd, Cattaraugus County) for two years 1936 - 1938 in a one room school house. She next taught at Brant, NY (Brant No. 4; 1938 - 1939) in a two room school house for one year. For the rest of her 30 yr. teaching career she taught mainly at St. Mary's Grade School (Dunkirk, NY) with a few years at Sacred Heart Grade School, Dunkirk, NY. When she died she was teaching 3rd grade at St. Mary's Grade School.

Mary Abigail Watts, daughter of Nathaniel Watts and Abigail Flanders, was born in Atkinson, Rockingham Co, NH either 3 Jan 1763 or 23 Jan 1764. Census and Winchester death records support the latter date. Her father is enumerated in the 1790 Census in Alstead, NH. The "History of Surry", by Frank Kingsbury incorrectly gives the last name as Wells; but the Gazetteer of Cheshire County, NH, 1736-1885 identifies her as "Mary Watts of Alstead". Her children Abigail and Simeon were named after her mother and brother respectively. (Source: Records of Su Wetzel, a descendant of Thomas L. Wheelock and Mary Watts)
