This is probably the Cyrus Wheelock who enlisted as a Private 9 Nov 1861, Fredonia, NY, age 24, in Company K, New York 9th Cavalry Regiment, promoted to full 2nd Lieutenant on 27 Dec 1862, mustered out 19 Dec 1863.
