Benjamin is the son of Leonard Langston and Frances Christ.
A biography of Benjamin can be found in "The History of Miami County, OH", W. H. Beers and Co, Chicago, 1880.
Benjamin was an official of the Miami County Infirmary, in West Milton, OH. On the letterhead of the infirmary, in 1881, he recorded birth and death dates for his wifes family. The letter still survives (2000), and is in the possession of Robert Wheelock, a descendant of Lyman Wheelock and Mary Fouts.

Melissa Betsey Wheelock may be the daughter of Daniel Wheelock, of Eden, VT. The clues are as follows:
1) Melissa was born in 1826, which fits the pattern of births for her supposed mother, Betsey Phelps.
2) Daniel Whelock (sic) is enumerated in the 1840 Census in Eden, Vermont, with two daughters 10-15 years old, one of whom was probably a daughter, Alice Wheelock (who is enumerated in the 1850 Census). The other is unaccounted for, and may be Melissa Betsey Wheelock. Walter Wheelock does not have unaccounted for children of this age in the 1840 Census. Unfortunately, Martin died in 1840, and does not appear in the 1840 census.
3) The pattern of names suggests a relationship with this family. First, Melissa Betsey Wheelock shares the name of her supposed mother, Betsey Phelps. (By this argument, she could also be the daughter of Walter Wheelock, who married 1st Betsey Johnson.) Second, Melissa has children that match names in the family of her supposed brother, Levi Wheelock (specifically, Aurah Cordelia Richards shares a name with Levi's wife, Cordelia Brown; and Emigene shares a name with Levi's child, Emogene Wheelock.)
