Gideon appears in the 1790 Census living in Hardwick, MA, with himself, 2 females, and 1 male under 16.
Gideon's administration of estate was filed 23 Feb 1795, and is signed by his wife, Sarah Wheelock, and a Gideon Wheelock, probably his son. (Worcester County Probate case 63691).

Morton D. Wheelock was living in Rome, NY, at the time "History of the Ninety-Seventh New York Volunteers", by Isaac Hall, was written (1890). According to this book (about the Civil War Regiment that his father commanded) Morton D. was called to service in August, 1863, but was excused in order that he may continue to take care of his fathers affairs.
