A deed for land in East Hamburg, Township 9, Range 7, Lot 34, Subdivision F was issued to Silas Wheelock on 15 Dec 1835. The size of the lot was 120 acres. [Source: "Historical Briefs, Hamburg and Vicinity, Lancaster and Vicinity", Lyman Morris Smith, Author and Publisher, no date given.]
The 1850 NY Census shows that Silas was housing his father (Silas) and his father's second wife (Sarah), in addition to his own children and wife. They were living in Hamburg, NY, at the time. The 1850 Census records Silas' age as 37, in disagreement with the 6 June 1811 birth date shown. (Of course, the 7 might have been a 9.)
Silas died of pneumonia. (Source: Evelyn Wheelock, descendent of Silas, Jr.)
