Wheelock, 71, of Westbrook Street, South Portland, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at his residence.Mr. Wheelock was born in Mt. Vernon, the son of William A. and Maude Laura Nichols Wheelock. He was educated in the South Portland Schools and graduated from South Portland High School in 1957. For many years he was a Sales Manager of the Jayson Caron Company. He was an owner of D&R Construction and also worked for Publicover Security.His hobbies included fishing, horse racing and Nascar.Predeceasing him was his wife, Sandra Wheelock in 2005. Surviving are two daughters, Doreen L. Strube and her husband William of South Portland, and Darlene L. Lillie and her husband Kirk of Minnesota; one granddaughter, Trish Provencher of Scarborough, one grandson, Dustin Lillie of Minnesota; one great-grandson, Andrew Provencher of Scarborough; four sisters, Christine McLaughlin of South Portland, Phyllis Andrews of Conway, Ark., Josephine Grover of Gorham, N.H., and Patricia Greve of Hallowell; one stepbrother, Wayne Read of Kittery, one stepsister, Doris Brooks of Ocala, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
