His obituary was published in the 28 Sep 1988 edition of the New York Times, reprinted below: Morgan Dix Wheelock, a real-estate agent and former chairman of the Children's Aid Society of New York, died of respiratory arrest Monday at his home in Darien, Conn. He was 79 years old. Mr. Wheelock, a Harvard graduate, was active in real estate from 1931 to 1972, first with Brown, Wheelock, Harris, Stevens Inc., and from 1948 to his retirement with Braislin, Porter & Wheelock. He served as president of the Children's Aid Society for 16 years and later as chairman. His father and grandfather also served the agency. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; two sons, William, of White Plains, and Morgan Jr., of Boston; a stepson, Dr. E. Frederick, of Philadelphia; and two stepdaughters, Beverly Jennings of Philadelphia, and May Morris of Yonges Island, S.C.; five grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
