Notes:
In 1860 Caroline, was living in Buffalo, New York, age 17, born New York, with her father, Jacob Dorst, 46, born Bavaria, and her mother, Louisa Dorst, age 40, born France. Other children in the household were Louisa, 19, Sophia, 15, and Julia, 14, all born in New York.
After marriage, Caroline Dorst lived with her husband, William Harrison Wheelock in East Hamburg, NY. They had eight children (3 boys, 5 girls). Circa 1880 William Harrison Wheelock, Sr. moved (with the 3 boys) to Marion, Kansas, where he established a Ranch. Caroline followed with the daughters, but did not like it, and returned to NY. William Harrison Wheelock remarried, so one can speculate that Caroline and William must have divorced.
Her parents are identified as Jacob Dorst, born Germany, and (--?--) Smith, born France, in the Cook County deaths index.

John Wheelock
Birth: say 1709
Death: 7 Feb 1778, Lancaster, Worcester, MA
Father: Joseph Wheelock
Mother: Elizabeth _____
Spouse: Martha Wood
Marriage: 11 Sep 1729, Groton, MA
Notes:
John Wheelock apppears in a list of men mustered between August and October 1725, in Lancaster, MA.1
On 4 Mar 1728/9, Nathan Brigham of Marlborough, Middlesex Co, MA, sold to John Wheelock, of Lancaster, 95 acres located to the southwest of Massapoag Pond, lying in the "new addition of land made to Lancaster," bounded on the north and west by land of Joseph Wood.4 This land was later to become part of Leominster in 1740.
Per Groton vital records, John Wheelock and Martha Wood were "both of Lancaster" when they married in 1729.
He was an early resident of the portion of Lancaster that became incorporated as Leominster.
On 11 Feb 1736/7 he, along with his brother Joseph, "inhabitants of the additional grant of land made to said Lancaster," signed a petition to the town of Lancaster requesting that the town set aside the northerly end of the "additional grant" as a separate town. The request was eventually honored. The new town was called Leominster, incorporated 23 June 1740.5
On 2 March 1741, in a Leominster town meeting, John Wheelock was appointed a hog reeve.6
On 26 Feb 1741, John Wheelock, of Leominster, sold 95 acres of land lying southwest of Massapoag Pond (which is in present day Lunenburg, and just northeast of the Leominster border) to Jonathan Wheelock of Lancaster, referring to him as "my brother."7
On 26 April 1741, Jonathan Wheelock of Lancaster sold to his "brother John Wheelock of Leominster," half of his house on the Lancaster "neck," along with land, and his rights to the barn "standing on ye afresaid lott that was Jame Atehrtons which my honored father Joseph Wheelock built in partner ship with me, my right being one half thereof." This probably marks the approximate date that John Wheelock moved back to Lancaster.8
On 30 Sep 1751, John Wheelock, of Lancaster, sold 13 acres in a section of Lancaster called "the Neck" (near present day Neck Rd.) to Joseph Wheelock, Jr., of Lancaster.9 Later, Joseph Wheelock of Lancaster, with his wife Alice, sold that same property to Levi Willard of Lancaster, referring to it as "all the land John Wheelock had the west side of the road that he gave to his adopted son Joseph Wheelock."10
John Wheelock became guardian to the three youngest children of his brother Jonathan, who died before 3 May 1754. (Srcs: Estate administration for Jonathan Wheelock, Worc probate 63714; guardianships for Joanna, Luke, and Mary, his three youngest children, Worc probate 63705, 63744, and 63753.)
His will, dated 20 Feb 1777, and approved 7 July 1778, is on file at the Worcester County Probate Office, case 63708. He called himself "of Lancaster," and appointed his "trusty and well beloved nephew" John Wheelock Junior executor. Bequests were made to his "dearly beloved wife Martha Wheelock", and provisions were made for Oliver Wheelock, son of his late nephew Joseph, to care for him until his death. A legacy was left to Martha Wheelock, daughter of his deceased nephew Joseph. He left ten pounds each to be paid by "their said brothers John and Oliver" to the the remaining children of Joseph, identified as "Joseph, Archibald, Abel, Elijah, and Allice Wheelock, children of my said deceased nephew". The residue of his estate was left to "the said John and Oliver Wheelock, ... to vest when the estate of my wife shall terminate."
Neither the Lancaster Vital Records, nor his will makes any reference to children of John and Martha.

- Worc 123:281. This deed identifies this land as "in Lancaster", but this was surely a mistake - understandable since Leominster had split from Lancaster less than a year earlier than the date of this deed.
